Escapisms

Imagery that hovers in a tranquil space between the everyday and the dreamworld.
Through southern sights, brief escape from the rhythm of daily life.
Environment that feels at once nostalgic and beguilingly unfamiliar. Much like emerging from the depths of a deep sleep, these images exist in a state of liminality, their atmosphere akin to fragments of half-remembered distant memories.

The Sea

“The sea, the great unifier, is man’s only hope. Now, as never before, the old phrase has a literal meaning: We are all in the same boat.”

Jacques-Yves Cousteau

Photography in the past was a way to preserve history, memories and the environment of the time. With the blurred lines of modern imagery I can only find my escape in using photography to preserve the emotion.

The sea is a constant companion, a perfect listener. The shimmering light is in a way the most hypnotizing sight one can encounter. It is a place where the thinking stops and only admiration is left.

“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”

The environment is what we are and what made us. As much powerful as it is fragile.
